I'm Melissa, and it's a tradition of mine to wear blue on your wedding day!
Some of my favorite things:
I’ve been to a number of places in my life, but the one place that kept calling my soul is New England. I really can’t put a finger on it, but it has my heart. The rocky coasts. The gloomy skies. The bipolar weather. The fact that water is literally everywhere. The cold. The historic architecture. New England has my heart for a number of reasons, probably too many to count!
As a fellow foodie, I enjoy the atmosphere local food joints have. They tend to be hecka family oriented, so taking my toddler wild child alongside me as I take food photography is made easy. Oh! Local food places tend to have local breweries on tap, and who doesn't love a good local brew?! This one in particular was from Route 44 in Maine!
Local Food Joints
Growing up, I’ve always has this vision of being able to serve others. That action of serving was always hard for me to figure out though. I tried health care. I tried fitness. I tried ministry. What stuck? Weddings. I never realized that my passion for photography could be the key to serving others in a creative way. I assisted a photographer at a wedding in Kansas back in 2014 and I never looked back. I guess you could say it just clicked. Pun intended. I tried being a one stop shop for photography, but being able to document love stories is what sold me.
One of the biggest motivations in my life has been seeing successful relationships. Seeing two imperfect people serving this life together as one just melts my heart. Seeing two strangers become the best of friends over the next 50 years has always been my personal definition of those #relationshipgoals. Seeing couples make it through the struggles of life, knowing that neither person is perfect, but choosing to do life together anyway. That’s why I capture weddings. It’s why I document love. That stuff is the real deal! Will I be capturing your love story?
Your marriage is for a lifetime, your wedding photos should be too.
